I made this at Sou’Wester Lodge during a residency this spring, at the same time as my “Natural Response” installation. It happened to be razor clam harvesting season while I was there, so the beach was littered with empty clam shells. I loved how the shells were rough on the outside, iridescent and delicate on the inside. The oval forms loosely reference the shells.
