Restaurant
The client brief for this project was to create a historically influenced restaurant. Pulling design elements from art history and pairing it with colors of the Greek Islands informed the concept of this project. I envisioned a rustic private dining room where parties of eight to ten could enjoy an evening together. The individual dining alcoves around the perimeter create a sense of intimacy and privacy, even though they’re in the main dining room. The alcoves have a natural stone wall at the back with an arch at the front, and display decorative shelves with antique vases. Custom upholstered banquette seating is placed in each alcove with a vintage wooden table and bold light fixture. At the front of the restaurant the large chef’s counter and bar make a lively central area. The fluted marble base of the bar and host stand reference Greek columns.
